What is Panic Disorder and How is it Treated

Panic Disorder is a type of anxiety disorder characterized by recurrent, unexpected panic attacks. A panic attack is a sudden and intense episode of fear or extreme discomfort that often comes on without warning and reaches its peak within minutes. Panic attacks can be very distressing and are often accompanied by physical symptoms such as a rapid heart rate, sweating, trembling, shortness of breath, chest pain, and a feeling of impending doom.
