Therapist (LSW)
Kina recently moved back to Boulder from Kaua’i, where she lived for 6 years and worked with at-risk children and adolescents in a mentoring and guidance capacity. She facilitated group therapeutic nature-based recreational activities promoting self-confidence, curiosity, and safe supportive friendships for youth aged 5-18.
In her current practice, Kina uses strengths-based/empowerment and trauma-informed approaches and is clinically experienced with evidence-based therapeutic interventions including; Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy, OCD and Exposure Response Prevention (ERP) therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness, Eco-therapy, Motivational Interviewing, solutions-focused therapy, substance use/addictions therapy, and psychedelic integration. She works with children, adolescents, and adults of all ages presenting with anxiety, depression, substance use, mood, personality, trauma, and co-occurring disorders. Formerly serving probation clients suffering from substance use, trauma, and addiction, she also has experience facilitating a trauma and addiction support group for adult women.
Kina is excited to join the Kairos Wellness Collective team in serving the Boulder, Denver, and Fort Collins populations suffering from mental health issues in all capacities, focusing on anxiety and OCD disorder treatment.
