Julie Chatham

Meet Julie

Parent Liaison

Julie Chatham was born and raised in Boulder, Colorado. After graduating high school, she attended the University of Colorado at Boulder where she graduated with degrees in fine arts and creative writing. Julie launched a successful wedding and portrait photography business in 2002 that has served the Denver and Boulder metro areas for more than 20 years.

Julie is a married mother of two girls (10 and 12) and describes herself as “OCD adjacent” in that both of her daughters and her husband have been diagnosed with OCD, but she does not have it herself. Because it was so difficult to find a talented but affordable therapist, Julie found herself going the DIY route, spending hundreds of hours educating herself about OCD in order to help her daughters. Over the last few years, she’s gained an enormous amount of compassion for OCD sufferers and empathy for parents who are navigating life with children who have OCD.

Julie is thrilled to be journeying towards becoming a licensed therapist. She began taking graduate level classes at CSU in Clinical Mental Health in the Spring of 2024. She is trauma- informed certified and is being mentored by Natalia Aiza to become an OCD specialist.

Julie is here to listen and to encourage other parents in any way that she can. She stands firm in the belief that there is no shame in having OCD, and her hope is that we might all gain insight into neurodiversity and an understanding that people experience and interact with the world around them in a myriad of ways.
