Amy Elder

Amy is excited to be a member of the Kairos Wellness Collective team and practice in a community that values building transformative, therapeutic relationships with clients and providing holistic care. Amy has built her career blending her passions for community mental health and clinical practice, holding a master’s in public health degree from Emory University and a master’s in social work from The University of Denver.

Amy has a comprehensive background in behavioral sciences, mental health, and trauma-informed interventions. She utilizes Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Exposure Response Prevention Therapy (ERP), and internal family systems (IFS) to best address client goals.

Amy has experience working with adolescents and adults from all backgrounds. Her previous experience includes providing counseling for those living with HIV, adolescents experiencing trauma and community violence exposure, and individuals experiencing OCD and anxiety disorders. Amy has spent the past two years working with court-mandated clients in Colorado and has experience providing services for a wide-range of psychological conditions and assisting with systemic needs. Amy is pursuing additional licensure in addictions counseling and enjoys working with clients experiencing co-occurring disorders. Amy loves to incorporate creativity into therapeutic spaces and has experience in providing animal-assisted therapy with her dog Monk as well as equine therapy and holds certifications in fitness instruction.

Education: 

  • Master's in public health from Emory University.

  • Master’s in social work from the University of Denver.
