Meet Kat

Therapist (LCSW)

Kat McNiece

Kat received her masters in social work from the University of Denver. She has been passionate about professionally and personally implementing integrative therapies for years. Before discovering her true calling to be a therapist, she worked as a behavioral therapist for children with autism spectrum disorder. After completing her yoga teacher training certification (RYT-200), Kat worked in integrative health care as a chiropractic assistant where she gained a deeper appreciation of how the nervous system, spine, and stress are connected.

Kat regards the body as an integration of the physical, emotional, and mental. Her personal journey has given her an understanding of inner and outer connectedness and the body's innate ability to heal on all levels of being. She believes that how we relate to others begins with our relationship to ourselves. With a passion for supporting neurodiversity, gender diversity, and sexual empowerment and freedom, Kat combines therapy, movement, nature, and mindfulness to strengthen the mind-body connection and help individuals thrive.

Kat has experience working with children, adolescents, and adults in functional and behavioral health settings. She is also experienced working with folks from the LGBTQIPA+, ethical nonmonogamy, and kink/BDSM communities. Kat deeply values strengths-based, person-centered, social justice-oriented approaches. She utilizes Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) to support her clients. Kat is experienced working with trauma, anxiety, stress, perfectionism, relationship and intimacy issues, sexuality/gender identity exploration, life transitions, grief and loss, and OCD.

She is passionate about supporting individuals with OCD and is particularly interested in perfectionistic, relationship, and sexual/gender subtypes of OCD.

Kat is excited to partner with Kairos Wellness Collective to provide quality OCD treatment for individuals of all ages!

Kat is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Colorado.
