Ketamine Prescriptions - Initial and Maintenance
All Ketamine Assisted Coaching clients are responsible for obtaining and managing their ketamine prescription and bringing in the ketamine lozenges to each KAP/KAC session.
While we do require introductory sessions with your KAP or KAC facilitator in order to discuss your intentions for your series of KAC or KAP sessions, build rapport, develop a relationship of trust required for mind-altering sessions, and map out a blueprint for treatment; we advise patients not to schedule an actual KAC or KAP session until they have their ketamine prescription on hand.
Things to keep in mind:
The Psychiatric provider you choose cannot guarantee a day of appointment; most psychiatric offices usually book at least a week out, if not much longer.
For any ketamine refill, a follow up appointment is required to prescribe.
There are no local-to-Boulder compounding pharmacies. You need to allow time for the ketamine prescription to process and ship. Our recommended pharmacy is the Apothecary Shoppe in Montrose, CO.
The prescription is usually sent in by your psychiatric office on the day of your appointment and the pharmacy takes about 24 hours to process. They then need a minimum of 24 hours to compound the medicine (it has to sit overnight). At that point, the pharmacy will call you for your billing and shipping information.
Shipping usually takes about 2 business days to nearby locations. The process can take longer if there are any delays, errors, or the pharmacy cannot reach the patient by phone. to confirm payment and shipping details.
The overall time between your psychiatric intake or follow up appointment and receiving the prescription in the mail from Apothecary Shoppe takes 5 days minimum, but we advise planning on 7 days.
